Misc. Sunday. Alright. It's time to bring something to the attention of everyone in the entire world. Today, September the 19, is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. It's a fact. Its my favorite holiday. Basically, you dress up like a pirate and you have a party, watch pirate movies, have plastic (or real) sward fights,eat lots of food and everyone of course talks like a pirate. Where I live, it's a pretty big deal. But most people have never heard of it. Why? I don't really know, and I think its a crime that no one does.
My goal of this post is to try to convince the world of this underrated holiday. It's only National, but why isn't it international? Everyone should have an excuse to dress up like a pirate every now and then. Get your boots, cut up your jeans, find an eye patch, stick a sward in your belt and get out there. It's an excuse to be awesome. It's basically saying to everyone else: Peace out I'm going to be awesome today. You can join me if you want.
If you own an actual sword, please wear it! If the only thing you have is one of those Star Wars plastic pop-out light sabers, wear it anyway. Go have a good time. It's Talk Like a Pirate day.
