Please excuse me for not posing TV Tuesday on Tuesday. I however have a very exciting story to tell that relates to TV Tuesday, so I will write what I failed to write yesterday. I'm really exited about this post....:)
Yesterday at roughly 7:30 P.M. at night, (19:30) everyone was in their seats, and the suspense couldn't wait any longer. The lights dimmed, the curtains rose, and the famous opening notes of the Lion King began. On stage, the carefully constructed set of a sun rising in the African heat pulled every eye and imagination in. As the music played, on either isle, just plain old actors were carefully transformed into every African animal you can think of. Every costume was life-sized, beautiful, and inhumanly spectacular. Once all of the animals had danced and sung their way onto the stage, Mufasa could be seen on the rock, and the future king was held high in the air. Then came a chest rattling crash of drums. The theater was filled with applause.
Now, this is just a small taste of where I was at last night; the Broadway version of The Lion King. You may have heard of it. I can honestly say I've never experienced something so imaginatively epic as that production. I was told that the costumes were pretty amazing. I didn't think much of it until I was staring open mouthed at the fluidity between the animal and the human merged together into a 20 foot giraffe. Can you say crazy sauce.
I usually make fun of things, but honestly, it was too immaculately majestic to say anything remotely negative. I am running out of adjectives as you may have noticed... so before I write a 20 page analysis of every second of it, let me just say this. If you can afford it, go. Find tickets and go. You'll have the time of your life I promise.
